The Dorset Iron Pour is a yearly event organised by Coles Castings foundry bringing together artists, makers and those interested in metal casting to run our cupola furnace. The Dorset Iron Pour provides a rare, hands-on opportunity to experience this exciting craft in the beautiful setting of an organic farm on the edge of the Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Each year we hold a mould making workshop during the week leading up to the Dorset Iron Pour. Hosting a small number of participants, we offer instruction in sand or ceramic shell lost wax mould making, alternating years. The week then culminates in running one of our cupola furnaces, casting the moulds created during the workshop.
